Interchangeable taxa

The color of the shell is very variable. The specimens from the type locality have a different color than those collected in Praia Amelia and Saco Mar, Namibe province, which have an uniform cream coloration, without brown blotches on the spiral cords. Also those from Sao Nicolau present a uniform whitish coloration, alternating on the cords, pinkish nodules more evident on the subsutural cord.
C. santamariae differs from C. corallinus and C. pseudocorallinus by having the lower tooth of the columella large and prominent but not bifid.
