Distribution: Texas. Size: 5 mm
Description: Color of bands different shades of brown on fresh shells; shape ovately turreted; sculpture of sigmoid, rounded axial cords crossed by thinner slanting, spiral ribs on teleoconch, producing a cancellate appearance; axial sculpture terminates at base of shell; nuclear whorls smooth and glassy; aperture U-shaped; siphonal canal abrupt; turrid notch distinct.
Habitat: Collected from sandy, shelly bottoms and shale domes. Collected alive at depths from 18 to 20 m (60 to 66 ft).
Remarks: Recognized by the somewhat squared-off, flattened, shouldered whorls. See Calnan et al. (1989b); Ode (1973c, 1993c). Synonym: Agathotoma metria Dall, 1903.
