Shell small, elongate, white, cream, pale brown or light pink. Spire slightly more than three-quarters the length of shell, the whorls of which are somewhat rounded and cancellated by longitudinal riblets and concentric ridges ; this sculpture is less conspicuous towards the anterior end; sutures deeply impressed. Interior cream. Aperture ovate; outer lip sharp, crenulated; columella reflected; anterior canal somewhat contracted, short. Size: 0,75 inch.

The shell is not of frequent occurrence on our shores and because of the fineness of its outer lip usually comes in a more or less damaged condition. The characteristic cancellate ornament will serve as a useful recognition mark and the species cannot be confused with any other shell in Victoria.
