Shell small, yellow or brown, more or less articulated with bluish grey but extremely variable in colour and pattern; trochiform. Spire approximately two-thirds the length of shell. Whorls rugose, flattish, overlapping. Body-whorl possessing a strongly tuberculated keel at the anterior third; base flat or sometimes concave. Interior dark chocolate. Aperture transversely ovate, outer lip acute; operculum horny. Size: 0,75 inch.

Found living more often in quieter waters of sheltered muddy inlets and estuaries, occurring also in Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania and South Australia.
