A species endemic to La Gomera, where it occupies an area of approximately 25 km2 in the east of the island that is mainly heath and pine wood, but also lowland vegetation (vegetational zones 2—4), at an altitude of 400-950 m. The snails live hidden on open rock faces exposed to the humid trade winds, with the shell camouflaged by lichens on the rocks.
