Description

Type species: Monodonta conica Gray 1847.
Shell elevated, conical, imperforate, thick solid, spirally granulated or ribbed; periphery roundly angled; aperture small ovate; outer lip thick, cremilated within; columella truncate forming a basal tooth, crenulate above.
Distribution: Southern Australia.
Remarks: Distinguished by the crenulate columella, somewhat constricted aperture; no umbilicus or depression. Etym., Thalotia, sea-ear.

Shell imperforate, elevated conical, thick, solid, granulated or spirally ribbed ; periphery rounded or obtusely angular ; aperture small, ovate ; outer lip thick, crenulated within ; columella toothed at base, subtruncated.
