Description

Diodora fontainiana (Orbigny, 1841) (Synonyms: Fissurella aspera Sowerby, 1835 [not Rathke, 1833]; Fissuridea asperior Dall, 1919 [new name]). Relatively large, with coarse cancellate sculpture and a large oval perforation. Length, 28 mm; width, 22 mm. Pacasmayo to Islay, Peru (type locality); not reported in recent years. Diodora granifera (Pease, 1861). Described from the Hawaiian Islands and otherwise an Indo-Pacific form; reported as living on Clipperton Island.
