Description

Shell cream or light brown, obscurely marked with spots of reddish brown; keels, paler, narrow, lanceolately acuminate. Whorls sixteen to eighteen, bicarinated on the lower half and further ornamented with fine concentric lirae, and numerous close, longitudinal, somewhat undulating striae. Sutures well defined. Interior creamy. Aperture rounded, outer lip acute. Size: 1,5 inch.

Interchangeable taxa

This graceful, acuminated Screw Shell with its two keeled feature is easily recognized and cannot be confused with any Victorian form.

Distribution

Locality: South-west Victorian coast.
A species not of common occurrence in Victorian waters and known only to the writers from the above locality. Recorded also from Tasmania.
