Teleoconch whorls rounded. Suture impressed. Last whorl bearing 3 rounded varices ornamented with short palmate fronds; uppermost and lowermost fronds largest; intermediate small spinelets broadly open. Other axial sculpture consisting of 2 strong intervarical nodes. Spiral sculpture of numerous equal-sized cords and occasionally one small supplementary intermediate thread. Aperture ovate. Columellar lip smooth, adherent to the shell, slightly detached anteriorly. Anal notch small. Outer apertural lip strongly erect, crenulate and briefly striate inside. Siphonal canal long and slender, dorsally bent and strongly curved to the right; its ornamentation consisting of 1 or 2 small spinelets on its posterior part. Interchangeable taxa

Chicoreus boucheti is the only species to which this new species may be compared, and even though the large and paucispiral protoconch, attesting of an intracapsular development, is the same, the teleoconch morphology is sufficiently distinct to separate both species. Found at the same depth and having the same distribution area, C. boucheti is more spinose and larger, the suture of the whorls is appressed, the spiral sculpture is more irregular and delicate. The aperture of C. boucheti has a broader columellar lip, a slighter
erect outer lip with the sculpture of the inner side being weaker and more irregular.
