Habitat: it lives in the infralittoral and circalittoral zones preferring Posidonia oceanica biocenosis , mainly on rhyzomes. Distribution: it seems it is limited to the Tyrrhenian Sea.

It is one of the smallest species of its genus. Oval in outline, depressed, apex rolled-up and placed near posterior margin. Sculpture is made by ribs flat-sided reaching the margin and separated by thin longitudinal grooves into which there are some piercings visible in the internal of shell too. Crack narrow and long with margins raised. Protoconch (about one whorl of spiral) shows a very irregular sculpture that, at the beginning of teleconch changes into thin running little cords . No concentric sculpture is noted, made exception for some growth striae. Dirty white in colour, only protoconch is yellowish in colour. Juvenile specimens are easily recognizable due to the presence of small piercings.
Some specimens of this species are often found missing of sculpture almost wholly, made exception for some tiny piercings. Average measures of adult specimens are around 2.5x1.75x1 mm.
