Similar to typical F. glanvillianus, but usually smaller and more slender, and with slightly coarser axial sculpture; most easily separated from F. glanvillianus by examination of the labral sinus, which is noticeably less spout-like and lacks the prominent ridge joining it to base of body whorl; flared apertural margin rarely extending over parietal region and if so scarcely covering peripheral spiral thread; aperture with nine teeth. Buff to pinkish-brown. Length up to 3.6 mm.
Eastern Cape (Port Elizabeth, Grahamstown) to the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, inland to the Pietermaritzburg-Bulwer area (to 1,600 m), perhaps also in the Limpopo Province (Soutpansberg area). Little habitat data available, but has been found in leaf-litter of indigenous forests. Evidently much less common than F. glanvillianus and F. mcbeanianus in KwaZulu-Natal.
