Shell dextral, low conical, small, diameter up to 31.9 mm, height up to 25.4 mm, rather thick, slightly transparent; with rather keeled periphery. Whorls 5,5 , convex, regularly increasing in size; suture distinct, but not deep. Apex whitish, early 2,5 whorls smooth with very fine granulation and sometimes very fine radial striae, next whorls with fine radial striae, getting coarser towards the last whorl, spiral striae fine, radial and spiral striae fine below periphery. Colour light brown to dark brown, a whitish band at or slightly above periphery, usually a dark brown spiral band below periphery or sometimes at periphery, sometimes a brown band visible above the whitish periphery band, a dark brown spiral band sometimes visible above or below or at suture. Aperture rather rhomboid in shape, of a brown colour and with a whitish band visible inside. Parietal wall overlaid with thin translucent callus. Peristome simple, umbilicus open, small, partly concealed by broadened and recurved columellar side. Measurements: D: 27.5-31.9 mm, H: 17.5-25.4 mm, H/D: 0.63-0.80.

Compared with the nominate species from Wowonii Island, the shell of the subspecies A. crystalae suryai subsp. nov. is smaller, and the dark brown spiral band is sometimes visible above or below or at the suture in different specimens.
