Description

Shell small and rather narrowly tapering (length:width ratio about 2.8) with a blunt apex; outer lip (in side view) arched and drawn back below suture; sculptured by dense, thin axial riblets, crossed by traces of microscopic spiral threads, suture bordered by a raised edge, finely milled by the tips of the riblets. Translucent brownish-white. Maximum length 5.7 mm.
Known only from the original specimens collected at Verulam, north of Durban. However, the possibility that this is an introduced species needs to be considered - the type material was discovered living in flowerpots. The outer lip is not as strongly curved as in H. florentiae and the sculpture is stronger.
