A small species with a high, blunt spire and relatively small aperture; whorls convex, suture deep (particularly on apical whorls); sculptured by dense, curved axial threads, on early whorls usually cut by very fine spiral threads into tiny granules, which are faint or absent on later whorls; apex rather globular, with granulation weak, almost disappearing on later whorls. Uniform white with a glossy pale yellow periostracum. Attains 39 mm in length.
Occurs along the Zululand coast, from the Umfolozi River north to Lake Sibaya, and inland to Hluhluwe and Ubombo, with one record from north-western KwaZulu-Natal between Vryheid and Paulpietersburg. A rare and poorly known species, perhaps favouring dune and lowland forests; the few living specimens known were found climbing tree trunks.
