Darling Downs, southern Queensland
Ponderconcha gilberti is currently only known from the type locality, which is a large and diverse area of southern Queensland. The living animal remains unknown. While there are a number of populations presently known in the granite country of southern Queensland, additional surveys and detailed anatomical and genetic studies will be required to determine their identity and relationships.
