L. farquhari
(Melvill & Ponsonby, 1 898), has recently also been found in an isolated montane forest in north-western KwaZulu-Natal. It is longer than L. dadion (length up to 4.0 mm) and has a wider umbilicus. L. tabularis (Melvill & Ponsonby, 1 893), until recently considered a SW Cape endemic, is now thought to be nothing more than an introduced population of the European Lauria cylindracea (Da Costa, 1787).
