Resembles the western Jujubinus lepidus in form but strongly sculptured. It also resembles Thalotia conica in form. Iredale originally placed this common species in Thalotia but it lacks the columellar teeth which characterise that genus. The condition of the columella and sculpture suggest a relationship to C. arruensis of Queensland.
