Description

Shell large, attaining to 28 mm in length, depressed conical, thin, grey coloured; height below 50 % of length; aperture suboval in outline; one apical whorl reduced to a small hook, lies a little below the summit posteriorly; summits lying near posterior margin; anterior slope slightly convex and posterior straight; anal fasciole narrow, with many transverse lamellae, which are almost straight; fissurra short, narrow and below one third length of anterior slope. Sculpture is like that of E. kashimaensis but more irregular in arrangement of radial ribs; main radial ribs above 60. Length of aperture 28 mm, width of aperture 20 mm and height 10 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This species is rather allied to kashimaensis, but shell is lower, summit lies not so near posterior margin as in the latter.
