Shell subglobose, sculptured with fine growth lines; periostracum thin and smooth. Epiphallic flagellum short, thick, and finger-like; epiphallic pore terminal. Internal sculpture of upper penial chamber of leaf-like filaments; without raised central pilaster.
Shell 14.6-18.0 mm in height, 20.2-24.0 mm in width. Spire slightly elevated. Aperture roundly ovate, height 10.0-14.1 mm, width 12.8-15.6 mm. Total number of whorls 4.8-5.5. Last teleoconch whorl rounded; height 12.3-15.3 mm. Teleoconch sculpture of fine growth lines. Teleoconch periostracum smooth and thin. Protoconch sculpture of well developed pustules. Shell colour pale yellow, with red umbilical patch and narrow red subsutural band; supraperipheral band absent. Inner lip pale pink to pale mauve, reflected and partially obscuring the umbilical depression. Outer lip thin, slightly reflected and moderately deflected below midline of last whorl. Umbilicus closed. Non-genital Anatomy. Typical of Camaeninae (Solem 1992). Animal colour grey, mantle colour pale yellow, mantle roof mottled silver grey to black. Head with eversible head wart opening between and just posterior to ommatophores. Kidney long and thin, approximately 65% of length of mantle roof.
Genitalia : Typical of Camaeninae (Solem 1992). Ovotestis consists of three lobes in upper whorls of visceral mass. Head of spermatheca thin, rounded and elongated, reaching base of albumen gland. Penis short and straight, longer in length relative to vaginal length, surrounded by thin sheath of connective tissue [protosheath of Solem (1992)]. Epiphallus short, enters proximal apex of penis through short, rounded, wrinkled verge; epiphallic pore terminal. Epiphallic flagellum short, thick, finger-like. Penial retractile muscle inserts on epiphallus about one quarter of its length from penis. Internal structure of upper portion of penial chamber of leaf like filaments, aligned longitudinally; without raised central pilaster; lower portion of longitudinal folds. Vagina short, straight. Internal sculpture of vagina of longitudinal folds. Albumen gland small. Atrium short. Eggs. Unknown.

Members of Stanisicia n. gen. have been previously misidentified under the name Meridolum gilberti in the collections of both the Australian and Queensland Museums. It is likely that with additional field surveys and anatomical and molecular studies, more species will be found. Stanisicia differs from other genera by its smooth shell, the animal having a pale yellow mantle. The male genitalia has a short, thick, finger-like epiphallic flagellum, and the internal structure of the upper penial chamber bears leaf like filaments without a raised central pilaster. Stanisicia has a distinctive 16S mitochondrial DNA sequence (Clark 2005).

Stanisicia n. gen. presently comprises a single species and appears to be restricted to the northern end of the western slopes of New South Wales. It is possible that the northern limit of the range may extend into southern Queensland. The known population is associated with rock outcrops, and individuals can be found under logs, rocks and in leaf litter. The species seals its aperture with a thin membrane, usually to hard surfaces.
