Popis

Shell broadly elongate-conic, yellowish white with a rusty tinge The nucleus consists of 3, well rounded, smooth turns, forming an acute apex. The postnuclear whorls are appressed at the summit and market by strong axial ribs which on the first 4 whorls extend from the summit to the periphery without diminution in the sinal region. From the fifth whorl to the last they become materially reduced in the sinal region where they are decidedly retractively concavely curved. In addition to this, there are numerous, closely spaced incremental lines. These ribs are arranged in regular series; those of succeeding turns falling exactly in line with those of the preceding turn on the early whorls. On the last 3 they become less regular, as far as this arangement is concerned, but there is still a slight tendency toward alignment. Of these ribs, 7 are present on the last whorl. On the last whorl the axial ribs form strong humps in the middle between the summit and the periphery. The spiral sculpture consists of well defined threads which are about as wide as the spaces that separate them. These threads are finer between the summit and the anterior limit of the sinal region than on the anterior portion of the whorls. Ten of them occur between the summit and the periphery on the last whorl. Suture moderately well impressed, rather inconspicuous. Periphery well rounded. Base moderately long, stout and market by the feeble continuation of the axial ribs and fine incremental lines and 11 spiral threads which are a little more than half as wide as the spaces that separate them. Columella short and stout, rather obliquely truncated from the middle of its length to the anterior termination, and marked by the continuation of the incremental lines and 8 spiral threads. There is a narrow open umbilicus covering the anterior half of the columella. Aperture of rather irregular shape, profoundly notched at the posterior angle and with a shallow stromboid notch anteriorly. The space between these two sinuses is protracted into a decided claw. The inner lip is appressed to the columella. A heavy smooth callus, which extends over the parietal wall, covering of the big ribs, forms a decided hump at the posterior termination on the parietal wall.
