Distribution: Texas, Florida to West Indies; Bermuda. Size: 3 to 4 mm
Description: Color light brown with mottlings of white when alive, glossy translucent white when dead; shape toothlike or tusklike, slightly arched; sculpture of distinct longitudinal ridges with distinct annular ridges at aperture and microscopic spiral riblets between longitudinal ridges; mucro oblique, low, and small. Habitat: Calcareous environment at depths from 2 to 101 m (7 to 330 ft). Remarks: At high magnification many spiral riblets can be seen between longitudinal ridges. SeeTunnell and Chaney (1970); Ode (1988b). Synonyms: C. obesum Verrill and Bush, 1900; C. biminicola Pilsbry, 1951.
