Distribution: North Carolina, Texas; Caribbean. Size: Diameter 2 mm; altitude 1 mm. Description: Color translucent white in live or fresh material to opaque in worn or dead specimens; shape trochoid; sculpture smooth; spire depressed, consumed by body whorl and glazed over by a callus; teleoconch of 3,5 whorls; umbilicus covered by convex callus; aperture obtuse to subquadrate.
Habitat: In Texas found alive in beach drift to depths of up to 123 m (403 ft).
Remarks: This is one of the broadest Texas teinostomes. It is usually found offshore but has been collected fresh in Matagorda Bay at Indianola Beach, where many nonbay species have been collected. This is probably due to a fossil ridge that connects Matagorda Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. See Ode (1987c, 1988a).
Synonym: T. biscaynense auct. non Pilsbry and McGinty, 1945.
