Description: Shell medium-sized for the subgenus, stout. Holotype 23 mm in length, fusiform. Spire high with 1.5 protoconch whorls and up to 6 roundly-convex teleoconch whorls. Last whorl inflated. Sculpture of protoconch eroded. Suture deeply impressed. First to third teleoconch whorls with 9 high, rounded axial ridges; fourth whorl with 8 ridges; fifth and last teleoconch whorls with 7 high, rounded varices. No other axial sculpture. Spiral sculpture of last teleoconch whorl consisting of 8 similar cords, more strongly developed on varices. Carinal cord producing short, open spinelet on each varix. Shoulder smooth, except one shallow axial thread, more developed on varices. Two former whorls with 5 similar spiral cords. Spiral sculpture of three first teleoconch whorls somewhat eroded. Aperture rounded. Columcllar lip with 2 small folds abapically, otherwise smooth, adherent. Anal notch obsolete. Outer lip with 9 weak lirae extending within the aperture, rim broken. Siphonal canal medium-sized, straight, open, adaperturally with 2 rows of short, open spines. Shell whitish with one brown band on abapical part of teleoconch whorls, more visible on last whorl.
