Protoconch multispiral, first whorl with minute hemispherical granules, subsequent whorls axially ribbed and with two spiral threads; teleoconch with reticulate and heavily nodulose sculpture, second spiral commencing later than the others, fourth spiral partly exposed at the suture; whorls flat-sided; columella broad; aperture subcircular; outer lip extremity reflexed, overhanging the base of the columella; anterior canal short, broad, subtubular; operculum multispiral, thick, with a prominent external spire. The shells are like those of Bouchetriphora but the radulae and operculae are distinctive.
