Like other species in this group, C. vicina species has been found in deep water at depths in excess of 1100m. It reaches a maximum size of about 6.5mm and has been found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean off Portugal and the Azores. It has numerous low, thick costae on about 8 convex teleoconch whorls. Like C acus, spiral sculpture is absent and a strong basal disk is present The aperture is oval and the outer lip is thick.
It can be distinguished from C. acus by the lower, more numerous costae.
