Quadrangular to oval, lunule narrow and poorly defined, inflated, solid, whitish with rose tint or orange blotches, with sharply defined, coarse, beaded radial ribs; interior glossy white, margin crenulated by exterior ribs. North Carolina to Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Central America. Length 4 mm (to 6 mm). Compare Pleuromeris tridentata, which is more trigonal in overall shape, and Carditopsis smithii, which is much smaller and has a strong commarginal ridge bordering the prodissoconch.
