Isognomon nucleus (Lamarck, 1819)
9-23 mm. —> Small shell, sometimes pear shaped. Ligament pits small, few. Surface smooth or with many appressed lamellae. Light or dark purple or ivory with traces of purplish color. (9 mm)
Distribution: Moderately common, all areas.
Notes: Sometimes may be seen attached to intertidal rocks.

As Parviperna francisensis:
Shell tongue-shaped, irregular, rudely concentrically laminate; hinge plate wide, with six ligamental pits, slightly excavate at the byssal gape, leaving an acute umbo above in one valve and a more obtuse one in the other; interior darkly nacreous. Holotype: length 13 mm., height 24 mm., section 8 mm.—St. Francis Island, South Australia, alive. (Reg. No. D.11646, S.A. Mus.)
