Barbatia matsumotio (Habe, 1958) Shell small, 5.4 mm in height, 10.3 mm in length and 4.5 mm in breadth, solid, moderately inflated, elon- gate squarish; anterior side rounded and posterior obliquely truncated, sides angulated at upper part, dorsal margin straight and long, ventral margin almost paralled with dorsal; surface with numerous regular radial riblets and concentric lines, riblets thicker on the posterior; greyish-white, with reddish-brown spots, covered with a brownish epidermis. Distribution: South China Sea; Japan. Ecology: Found in muddy sand or coarse sand bottom from 54-83 m depth, uncommon in China.
