Like E. billeeanum (DuShane & Bratcher, 1965), this species is a parasite living on coral. It has been found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the western Mediterranean Sea. E. dendrophylliae attains a maximum size of about 16mm and has been found offshore in relatively shallow water. It has up to 9 teleoconch whorls which are yellowish white with two brownish spiral bands per whorl. There are about 28 thin costae per whorl which are not peaked as well as 12 spiral lines per whorl. The aperture is round and the outer lip is thin. The umbilicus is closed and the 3 protoconch whorls are light brown.
