Shell rissoiform, slim, stretched, whorls convex, suture rather broad. Last whorl is about 60% of total height. Aperture oval in form, external lip simple, columella arched, umbilicus either narrow or missing. A characteristic of this species is sculpture made by fine axial lamellae sigmoid in form that can be more or less broad. Laterally seen, in the upper part, external lip presents a slight sinus following axial sculpture movement. Protoconch, with nucleus almost smooth, has a sculpture made by spiral striae fine, close, irregular. Dirty white in colour, sometimes yellowish one. Typical axial scupture makes it easily recognizable. Juvenile specimens outline is not so different from adults one.
Auriconoba continentalis Nordsieck, 1974, is considered as a synonym of this species. It is not yet clear whether T. tenuisculpta (Watson, 1873), is to be considered as a synonym of this species. Average measures of adult specimens are around 3 mm in height.
