Shell solid, conic in outline, whorls either flat or a little bit convex, suture not much deep. Periphery of last whorl a little bit angulated, mouth roundish with external lip simple. Columella arched, umbilicus missing. Apex obtuse with protoconch paucispiral. Surface smooth and bright, constantly uniform white yellowish in colour. The only similar Mediterranean species is B. unifasciata which is however in smaller sizes, it is less strong, its periphery is more roundish and generally it is uniform brown reddish in colour. B. carrozzai van Aartsen & Giannuzzi-Savelli, 1991, taxon sets up in place of the preoccupied B. compacta (Jeffreys, 1884), is considered as a synonym of this species by CLEMAM, as well as B. majuscola Monterosato, 1884. In literature there can be found some varieties in colour (cerea, unicolor) of no taxonomic value. Average measures of adult specimens are around 4 mm in height.
