Shell very slim , spiral sculpture made by two ridges (with interspaces brown in colour), with many tubercles equidistant among them. Also some varices, light in colour, are present along the spiral. The last whorl a little bit expanded, with the external lip thickened, smooth inside and a siphonal canal open, moderately long and bent back. The ground colour pattern is pale cream with irregular brown spots, as well as the interspaces among the spiral ridges. The average measures of the Mediterranean imaged shells are 30 mm in height, those of the IndoPacific can reach even 50 mm.

It is rather easy to recognize it from the other Mediterranean Cerithiidae, due to its slim and tapered form, to the typical siphonal canal bent back and to its colouring pattern. The juvenile shells are recognizable by the similar forms, such as Bittium and Cerithidium, for the bigger development of the spiral and for the siphonal canal form which is protuberant and bent.

Red Sea and Indo-Pacific. In Europe up to now it is known in several localities of Israel, Turkey and Cyprus coasts only. In some areas they are plentiful, invasive ones (Barash & Danin, 1977).
