Shell solid, cyrtoconoid in form, apex angle of about 100°, with plane whorls adorned by 5-7 spiral ridges smooth, prominent, about as wide as the interspaces, finely grooved by growth striae prosocline. The last whorl is big, rounded at its periphery. The base is convex grooved by 6-9 ridges concentric, flattened and smooth. Aperture almost circular in form in the adult shells, columellar wall thickened parallel to the axis. Yellowish in colour with red flammula opistocline, basal carina red-brown in colour, protoconch red in colour. In the fresch imaged shells it is possible to note metallic reflexes. The average measures are abt. 6 mm.

Common enough in the west Mediterranean. It lives in low depths on different species of algae, mainly Corallina sp. They were found into sediments samples collected at Punta della Mona (Malaga - Spain), at 40 m depth.
