Diagnosis. A Calliostoma species of rather small size, with an elevated, weakly cyrtoconoidal spire, 6 granular spiral cords (P2, P3; PI; P4; S2, SI), P2 the strongest with thick sharp nodules on the last whorls, a weakly convex base with 10 subgranular spiral cords, without umbilicus, a nacreous white colour with light brown sparkles.
Description. Shell rather small for the genus (H 8.8 mm, W 7.0 mm), higher than wide, weakly cyrtoconoidal in shape; spire moderately elevated, height 1.3x width, 4.6x aperture height, apical angle 65°; subangulate periphery; anomphalous. Protoconch about 450 µm wide, 1.25 whorls, rounded, with a thin terminal varix.
Teleoconch up to 6.9 almost flat to weakly convex whorls; early whorls with 2 spiral cords, last whorl with 6 cords.
Suture weakly impressed, not canaliculated. First whorl convex, sculptured by 10 thick prosocline threads and 2 spiral cords with thick rounded beads; P2-P3 appearing immediately and simultaneously with the same size, distance between them smaller than their size. On second whorl, beads of Pi sharp; axial threads only visible between suture and P2; P4 almost invisible, covered by next whorl. On third whorl, PI appearing, subsutural. On fourth whorl, S2 appearing. On fifth whorl, axial threads completely vanishing. On sixth whorl, SI appearing; beads of P2 transforming into thick sharp nodules; S3 absent. On last whorl, P4 emerging from suture, smooth, peripheral, as thin as PI; P2 still nodular, PI and SI rounded granular, beads of S2 and P3 stronger and horizontally elongated.
Aperture subcircular. Columella slightly curved, oblique.
Base weakly convex, with 10 subgranular spiral cords, distance between them similar to their size. Colour of teleoconch and base nacreous white with light brown sparkles.

Among the New Caledonian Calliostomatidae, the new species is highly distinctive with its strong median spiral cords with thick sharp nodules. The only species to whom it can be compared id Benthastelena diademata (B.A. Marshall, 1995) from New Caledonia , but this larger species has an umbilicus and a very different shape with P2 making shoulder with nodules much more sharp and more isolated.
