The new species differs mainly from Pterocyclus comatus Beddome, 1881 but differs mainly in (1) flatter spire, (2) apex lower, not visible at frontal side, (3) aperture less visible at frontal view, much covered by the terminal part of body whorl, (4) air tube not strongly concave at frontal view and having different color, (5) axial stripes not continuous, well visible at lateral side, (6) sutures wider and more concave, (7) axial and radial ribs shorter and much weaker, (8) different localities, Kalimantan, Indonesia versus Anaimalai, Western Ghats, India. Etymology: The new species is named in honor of Steven Lie from Indonesia for providing the type material.
