Description: Shell medium-sized, turbinate in shape and semi-translucent. Spire conical, stepped and low, sutures
constricted. Shell height 73.7% of holotype width (see Table). Body whorl not tall and widening laterally. Apex whitish, outer surface not ornamented with any decorative pattern.. Sculpture consists of faint peripheral keel at body whorl and fine axial riblets crossed by very fine, shallow, widely-spaced spiral grooves. Aperture circular in outline, very oblique and occupying 69% shell height, 54.0% shell width, outer lip solid and very thick. Area of conjunction between parietal wall and outer lip pointed. Umbilicus nearly not covered by columella. Ventral side swollen and with many fine, closely-spaced radial riblets. Color pale yellow with pink columnella and outer lip.

The new species resembling Cyclophorus himalayanus (Pfeiffer, 1853) in white background color and pink columella and outer lip but differs mainly in (1) aperture not expanded foreward, (2) lack of widely-spaced spiral ribs, (3) not brown spire whorls, (4) conjunction area between parietal wall and outer lip not pointed, (5) body whorl more widening laterally, (6) columella not strongly curved, 7) different localities, Vietnam versus India. The holotype of
Cyclophorus takumisaitoi Hirano, 2019 illustrated in Fig. 12a of Oheimb KCM et al. (2019), is completely different from that that of new species. Etymology: The new species is named for the Thai Nguyen Province where type material was collected.

Type material: Holotype (40.7mm wide x 30.0mm high) deposited at Paris National Museum of Natural History, France with Registration No: MNHN-IM-2000-38144. Type locality: Vo Nhai, Thai Nguyen Province, North Vietnam.
Habitat: among leaf litter, under trees. Diagnosis: The new species is characterized by yellowish background, pink columella and outer lip, not tall body which is widening laterally.
