Adult specimens have approximately 4,5 whorls in the teleoconch. Shell somewhat turriculate, with well defined shoulders, suture appressed. Sculpture consists of seven or eight strong axial ribs per whorl, forming sharp angles on the shoulder and continuing across the flat shoulder to the suture. Spiral sculpture of numerous fine spiral cords which form minute nodes where they cross the ribs. Aperture ovate-trigonal, outer lip rounded with about ten lirations within, the strongest of which is located just beneath the shoulder at the posterior end of the aperture. Siphonal canal short, rounded. Three columella plaits, on an almost straight pillar, the posterior one being largest and the anterior one forming a keel bordering the siphonal canal. Umbilicus chink-like. Color of shell bluish-gray, with narrow continuous yellow band around the center of the body whorl, and with yellow maculations on the shoulder. Axial ribs usually light brown crossed by yellow spirals which appear only on the ribs.
