This distinctive species is characterized by 1) ovate-conoidal, dorso-ventrally compressed shell attaining 7.2 mm in height, 2) moderately tall, cyrtoconoid spire, 3) spire whorls convex, meeting at slightly impressed sutures, 4) body whorl globose, with left side roundly angular and more prominent than the right one, with somewhat flattened apertural side, strongly attenuated at the base and with distinct umbilical chink, 5) aperture broadly oval, slightly oblique, 6) outer surface shining, with fine, pitted spiral lines. The rapidly enlarging subtriangular outline (apertural view) and the sculptural features are the most distinctive characters. The examined specimens fully conform to the figure published by VAN BENTHEM JUTTING (1956).
