Pseudopusula depauperata: Shell between 8 and 15 mm, lightweight, solid and circular. Spire covered by callus. Body whorl sub-triangular, inflated and rounded, about 85% of total height, with both terminals not really produced. Both terminal tips blunt. Dorsum profile roundly elevated, completely covered by widely spaced ribs - about 14 on average - with a long, narrow, incised sulcus mid-dorsally that bisects the ribs. Ribs thickened along the sulcus. Ventrum almost flat with recurved terminals. Shell periphery callused and sharply edged. Aperture fairly narrow-over its entire length widened only barely at the fossular section. Aperture straight in its mid-portion but strongly curved posteriorly. Labrum roundly callused, wide, slightly curved, keeled towards its inner margin. On its inner margin labrum bears on average 16 fine denticles. Siphonal and anal canals follow the shell profile. Columella slightly curved, narrow and tapering steeply inwards. Parietal lip sinuous, slightly keeled, crossed by on average 11 ribs. Fossula concave and not clearly delimited from the rest of the columella. Inner fossular edge slightly protruded. Shell colour light brown with darker colour along both sides of the dorsal sulcus. Periphery, ribs, terminal collars and canals whitish brown.

VARIATIONS
The nominal form with its almost circular outline is very uniform in its appearance. Only the number of dorsal ribs varies considerably. There is a very slender variant with a width to length ratio of about 74%. The length varies according to Schilder (1967: 71) between 9 mm and 17 mm, the number of LT 14 to 18, and the number of CT 10 to 13 (ratio width to length according to Schilder, 1967 for T. dartevellei: 72%). We have to correct Schilders information as follows: L = 8.2 - 14.5, W = 84 - 95 % of length, LT = 15 -17, CT= 10- 12,RR= 10- 16; data based on 13 specimens.
