Popis

"Shell rather large with a somewhat elongate, tripterous, fusiform shape, better developed below than above. Spire high and acute, composed of nine or ten whorls; the first ones, after the embryonic whorls, strongly angulate, the three last ones rather convex, growing quickly in height and slowly in diameter. Body whorl rounded above, terminating below in an open, elongate, slender canal, and bent dorsally and to the left at its tip. Sutures straight and well-impressed. Apex somewhat swollen (mammillate), with one or two rounded, almost smooth nuclear whorls. Aperture ovate-pyriform, higher than wide, somewhat rounded above, ending below in a foliaceous, open, quite -short canal. Peristome interrupted, the columellar margin formed by a large, foliated expansion, this fringed at its periphery, plicate within as well as without, slender and sharp, flaring outward with a laterally rounded profile, swinging posteriorly near its junction with the body of the shell, the columellar margin strong, slightly pustulose anteriorly, accompanied by a poorly defined callus. Shell solid, rather thin, almost transparent, bearing varices and spiral cords. Three varices present on the penultimate whorl, two on the body whorl. Development of the peristome suggests the beginning of the third varix, the peristome very thin, very high, foliaceous, the leading edge more or less imbricate; very vague spiral cords indicated on base of body whorl, these forming, by their elongation into the varical webbing, straight costulations, these reproduced on the leading edge of the varix. "Shell color is white, with a trace of yellow. The aperture is porcelaneous white. "Dimensions: total length 48 mm; maximum diameter 27 mm."
