Pseudosetia has always been considered very rare, but this may be due to problems with the identification. Fresh shells are transparent and smooth, somewhat similar in shape and appearance to Pusillina inconspicua (ALDER) but with a larger and blunter protoconch. Species of Pseudosetia never have axial sculpture or colour patterns but often there is a very thin spiral rib forming a continuation of the suture all around the body whorl.
