Although resembling members of the Caribbean endemic genus Tenorioconus, the new genus Brasiliconus differs in consistently having a smaller shell with a proportionally higher spire, far more protracted spire. Unlike Tenorioconus, the new Brazilian genus is distinctly biconic, often with a spire that is equal in length to the body whorl. Brasiliconus, represented by a single species, is confined to the Cearaian Subprovince of the Brazilian Molluscan Province and ranges from Amapa State to Fernando de Noronha Island and Canopus Bank.
