The shell is of moderate size for the genus (maximum length 25 mm) and broadly fusiform. The spire is high, consisting of one convex nuclear whorl and four shouldered postnuclear whorls. The suture is moderately impressed. The body whorl is moderately large and broadly fusoid. The aperture is broad and ovate, with the barest hint of an anal sulcus. The outer apertural lip is briefly erect and finely crenulate; its inner surface is slightly flaring and weakly Urate. The columellar lip is smooth, adherent anteriorly, detached and weakly erect for its remaining length. The siphonal canal is short, bent to the left, and open at the right.
The body whorl bears eight prominent varices, each consisting of prominent portions of the spiral cords. Spiral sculpture on the body consists of six major cords and six intercalary minor cords. The canal bears a single major cord and a single minor one. Between the canal and the body is a moderately broad gap in spiral and axial sculpture. Where the cords intersect the varices, each is expanded and lifted to form a moderately prominent, blunt fold or ruffle. Shell color is white, with red-brown on the expanded portion of each varix. The aperture is
white.
