Shell of medium size, conical, yellow, variegated with white and brown on the peripheral keels. Protoconch of two whorls, the apex dome-shaped and oblique, the next whorl smooth and inflated. On the whorl below there is a distinct varix, adult sculpture appearing as two spiral keels. Mature whorls six, sharply angled at the periphery, sloping above to the sutures, sculpture strongly carinate, a strong peripheral keel, broken into rounded foliations, about to the whorl, and below this three other less prominent, evenly spaced keels, below this very faint spiral threads. On the slightly channelled shoulder close spiral threads are crossed by curved riblets, which rise just below the suture to weak tubercles. Aperture pyriform, outer margin slightly broken, but showing that the sinus is at the end of the peripheral keel, and it the margin is strongly bent at its anterior end, the canal rather narrow and twisted. Inner margin flexed, the columella twisted, with a sheet of callus. Length 16 mm., width 6.2 mm., Aperture 6 mm.

This is very close to E. carinata, and in the absence of a long series, would been taken as a variety of that species if it had not been for the different protoconch. the sculpture also the uppermost keel is strongest in molleri, whereas in carinata the median keel is most prominent.
