Shell of moderate size, conical, yellowish, with small brown patches on the edges of the spiral keels. Protoconch blunt, of two whorls, the first dome-shaped and smooth, the second with close axial threads, two spiral keels gradually developing. Mature whorls six, regular and short, sutures a narrow deep groove, body whorl excavate below. Sculpture predominated by three strong peripheral keels, the centre the most developed, the uppermost keel slightly rounded, the median keel sharp. Two keels only are visible on the penultimate and earlier torls. A strong spiral thread lies between the two uppermost keels. All the edges of the keels are broken into rounded, platelike projections, wide on the uppermost and short on the lowers. Fine spiral threads cover the excavated channel above the keel, between the keels, and on the base. Those on the base are crossed by fine transverse threads. Aperture short, pyriform, broad, outer margin thin, bent sharply anteriorly. Sinus rounded, fairly deep, peripheral, inner margin slightly reflected, and centred on the termination of the uppermost keel which covers the fasciole. Columella fairly long and broad, slightly flexed anteriorly, the inner margin with a narrow band of callus. Canal comparatively long and narrow. Length 17 mm., width 7 mm., aperture 6 mm.

This beautiful species cannot be readily confused with any other Peronian species. Its exact generic position is not certain. It has the general facies of Epidirona, but departs slightly in several characters from the genotype, notably by the absence of the subsutural line of beads, by the sharper definition of the keels, by the shorter aperture, rather longer canal, deeper sinus, and by the blunter protoconch. All of these deviations are slight, and such as could be produced by modifications of the original generic type.
