Semicircular, left valve convex, centrally inflated and larger than right valve, right valve centrally flattened, sharply concave ventrally and overlapping left valve along posterodorsal margin, moderately compressed, thin-walled, white with light brownish periostracum, left valve smooth with irregular commarginal surface, right valve with weak radial scratches; interior margin smooth. North Atlantic, Massachusetts, Florida Keys, also Arctic coasts worldwide. Length 18 mm.
