Shell oblong, ventricose, subequivalve, thin, translucent; posterior side attenuated and gaping; umbos fissured, directed backwards, supported internally by an oblique plate; sculpture concentric, feeble; hinge with a spoon-shaped resilifer in each valve, furnished in front with a transverse ossicle; pallial sinus wide and shallow.
Distribution: Indo-Pacific. Southern Ocean.
Remarks: Favours sandy mud conditions.
