Description

Shell: Very small, equivalve and only slightly inequilateral, the anterior side being somewhat larger. Beaks: Prominent, prosogyrate. The prodissoconch measures about 150 micron.
Sculpture: There is no sculpture proper, only slight concentric growth lines can be detected.
Dentition: Each valve shows a clearlv defined tubercular cardinal. Literal teeth are not clearly defined. The ligament pit is long, just below the posterio-dorsal side. Color: Usually, loose valves are colorless but live-collected material is of a golden-yellow color. Muscle scars as well as a pallial line could hardly be detected. Dimensions: 1.60 x 1.75 mm. Off the eastern coast of Elba, 50 to 80 m.
