Description

This species has been found in both the eastern and western Atlantic in depths of 700 to 1480m. It reaches a maximum size of about 6.5mm. It resembles P. elongata, which is discussed above, but has more numerous costae and 5 raised spiral lines per whorl. There are about 8 teleoconch whorls and the protoconch is similar to the protoconch of P elongata. A basal disk is present and the aperture is oval. The outer lip is thin. The whorls are angled at the first spiral line below the suture.
