Species in this group occur in deep water. They have a strong basal disk, broad axial costae and strong spiral threads. This species occurs off southwest Europe and the Azores. It reaches a maximum size of about 7.6mm and has been taken at a depth of 1680 to 2100m. It has about 10 teleoconch whorls with about 15 costae and 3 spiral threads per whorl. The shell is beaded where the spiral and axial sculpture intersect. The whorls are angled at the first spiral line below the suture. A basal disk is present as noted above. The aperture is oval and the outer lip is thin. There are 2 protoconch whorls, one of which is ribbed.
